Awesomeness!!

It's official I have the most amazing group of students.  They amaze me daily with their sparkling personalities and perseverance.  Second grade is full of challenges and they are ready.  What an awesome year this will be!

Pastries for Parents

Tuesday, April 14 is pastries for parents.  Come to the library before school and read with your child from 8:00 to 8:30 AM. The PTO and librarian will provide fun books and yummy pastries to enjoy.

Glow Dance

The PTO will be hosting a glow dance on Friday, March 20th.  The dance will be from 6:00-8:00 pm.  

Conference Week

I am looking forward to meeting with parents next week to discuss the wonderful growth that students have made.  We will have early release on Tuesday the 24th through Friday the 27th.  Class will be dismissed at 11:40.

Science

Students are testing solids with a magnet.  With a partner they are sorting solids into two groups, those that are attracted to a magnet and objects that are not attracted to a magnet.

Homework

This week there will be no official homework.  Please continue to have your child read 15-20 minutes four times this week.  

We will continue working on words with inflected endings -er, -est as well as words with -dge.

100th Day!

We are officially 100 days smarter!  I am so proud of all we have accomplished over the past 100 days. Each day is an exciting adventure!

Holiday Party

We were able to take a few minutes to celebrate all of our accomplishments and hard work.  We celebrated with a cookie and pajama party.  A huge shout out to my parent volunteers!!
